Frequently Asked Questions
and other fun stuff.
Q: What type of prints do you make?
A: I proudly make high-quality, original prints, including hand-pulled screenprints in open and limited editions.
Q: What is a "hand-pulled" screenprint?
A: Screenprinting is a printmaking technique that involves pushing ink through a stencil created on a mesh screen, one color at a time. The stencil is formed by blocking out areas on the screen using a light-sensitive emulsion. Each color is applied to the print separately, with the ink being pressed through the stencil using a squeegee. This process is repeated for each color in the design until the final image emerges.
The term "hand-pulled" refers to the fact that each print is individually made by hand, with the artist physically pulling the squeegee to apply the ink. This creates a unique and handmade quality to each print, as slight variations and charming imperfections show the artist's hand at work.
